AM Frames are providers of bespoke picture framing products and services. We offer high quality picture frames designed to suit your specific requirements.
Our highly personalised service ensures that we create perfect frames every time. We find the right framing solution for your needs with our friendly and efficient approach as well as our large range of mouldings.
We are committed to developing a strong relationship with our clients, both retail and trade, to ensure we exceed their expectations with our wide range of bespoke frames.
We dry mount most of our items. This is a process whereby the item to be framed is stuck in place using a vacuum process which ensures that the item is as flat as possible and that it remains that way throughout the lifetime of the product.
We also have a stretching bar which has 3 levels to ensure a good finish on the product as well as a long lifetime.
If you have a delicate item that needs to be framed, an old item with a broken frame, a precious item, artwork or memorabilia you will want your possession to be mounted with great attention to conservation.
We can provide an acid-free mount, glass with UV protection, acid-free fixing and backing board.
If you have had an accident with a frame, a picture or something else of great value (personal or monetary), don't panic! Drop your item into us at 12 Drumcondra Road Lower and we will replace and refit your glass for you.
We give a fast, high quality service that is very competitively priced.

We can also produce multiple apertures - multiple images in a single frame from 2 or 3 up to 50 or more. This is a particularly useful service for schools and sports organisations.
THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPONENTS IN A PICTURE FRAME:
Frame moulding comes in 3 metre lengths which are cut exactly to fit the picture / mount that is being framed. The moulding comes in a variety of materials from synthetic polymer to soft woods, hard woods and a wide variety of finishes. After the moulding has been cut, it is then glued and pinned using an underpinner.
When we talk about frame size, we mean the internal size of the frame which is what fits inside the frame, such as the glazing, backing and your picture. It does not relate to the measurements of the frame itself.
The mount should overlap the image by at least 2mm so that it does not fall through.
Mounts are the card placed around a picture. Apertures (holes!) are cut into the board that give a print, painting or photograph the perfect backdrop they need before being put into a frame. The right mount is a critical feature of well-framed work and depends on selecting the best match of mounting board to the art. Mounts can also be used in layers, which helps to draw the eye into the picture. Mounts also support and protect the picture and ensure that the picture does not come into contact with the glass. Finally, a mount will allow multiple images / pictures to be displayed in a single frame.
BACKBOARD HELPS SUPPORT AND PROTECT THE PICTURE, OPTIONS INCLUDE:
The glass is carefully cleaned prior to assembly, the picture / mount and backboard is pinned into the frame and is then sealed with framing tape. Hangers are then attached and the frame is strung for hanging.
